A New York City police officer (Christopher Curry) and the manager of a homeless shelter (Daniel Stern?!) team up to investigate a series of disappearances, and discover a plot to cover up the existence of Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers. A disillusioned photographer (John Heard) who’s a sword-guy, and his model girlfriend (Kim Greist) also get involved. Douglas Cheek’s tale of a disgusting city also birthed the insult you were probably called a few times as a kid (it’s ok, us too), C.H.U.D.
